Exercise : Your own workflow - Two
Visit to Frinton
This visit was purely for this project, along with getting some fresh air and exercise.
I felt there would be a number of opportunities for photos regardless of the weather. Although I had ideas I went completely open minded and just waited until I got there to see what showed itself.
It wasn't for a client, there was no specification and I had all day to stay until I decided to leave.
I found also on this day, I took photographs of anything and everything. It gave me a chance to experiment, taking photos of things I may not have taken usually. Then having a look at them on the computer on my return.
At the end of the day I had 64 photos - some were better than others and vice versa.. you normally know in advance what is going to look good.. I had taken a picture of a lady and I thought this was going to be good but she was out of focus, unfortunately.
This was because I rushed the shot because I didn't want her to see me - my lesson learnt is take your time.
I have now transferred these 64 shots to photoshop to make the required adjustments, then back to Iphoto.
Also with this exercise I don't have to produce a certain amount of final shots for anything in particular
so I will just choose the photos which I like.
I felt this exercise was a lot more relaxed and enjoyable. Although I enjoyed the baby shoot you feel the pressure of getting all done before baby gets bored, cold or hungry..
It is nice also not having to produce and actual shot, because sometimes that shot doesn't present itself, and you have the luxury of selecting your favourite once you look on the PC.
Here are a couple of Photos but I have combined this exercise with the Editing exercise so for that I have to select best shots.
